SACRAMENTO RT GREENLINE (TOWNSHIP TO SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT), SACRAMENTO, CA
Morton & Pitalo was responsible for providing surveying and mapping services to AECOM as a part of the PAED phase of this new 9.5 mile extension of the Light Rail from Township 9 to the Sacramento International Airport. Services included: (1) establishing a primary control network; (2) establishing 38 aerial control panels and locating them with respect to the project control network.(3) Perform differential level surveys to establish elevations for the project and aerial control and (4) preparation of the aerial base mapping at a scale of 1”=50’. The GPS primary control network and secondary aerial mapping control was established in accordance with the Caltrans Survey Manual procedures, accuracy standards and requirements for GPS surveys and Digital Differential Leveling surveys. In addition, supplemental designs surveys have been provided for the light rail expansion into the “Railyards”. These services included an aerial topographic survey for a portion of the Railyards and detail topographic surveys for portions of 5th, 6th, 7th, F, G, and H Streets.

FULTON AVENUE REDEVELOPMENT

Morton & Pitalo, Inc. was the prime consultant for the conceptual phase of this redevelopment project that spans Fulton Avenue from Arden Way to Business 80. The work included preliminary engineering research and studies; preliminary landscape designs and alternatives; several community and business group meetings; two (2) charettes; and cost estimates for the reconstruction of Fulton Avenue, intersection improvements, landscape and visual enhancements. Following the project scoping process, Morton & Pitalo, Inc. prepared the Master Improvement Plan and 3 construction phases of the Master Plan. The improvement costs for Phase 1A and 1B were approximately $3.7M. Phase 1A was completed in 2001 and Phase 1B was completed in 2003. Improvement Plans for Phase 2, which will replace the overhead utility lines with an underground system, were completed by Morton & Pitalo, Inc. in 2006. The costs of the Phase 2 improvements are about at $5M. The project includes funding from several sources including monies from the Fulton Avenue Improvement Association (FAIA), the County of Sacramento and TEA 21 funds from the State of California.
